AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition: Focuses on Latency, Up to 19% Performance Gains

The Radeon Adrenalin builds on the legacy of the Crimson/ReLive platform, introducing some exciting new features. Interestingly though, this initial offering doesn’t offer as big of a performance bump as prior major releases, but rather put a focus on latency reduction.

Radeon Adrenalin Edition - Reduced Latency

In AMD’s own tests, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds achieves the biggest latency gains, dropping from 50ms to 41ms on the new Adrenalin Edition. Other games such as Titanfall 2 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege also see noticeable improvements.

Radeon Adrenalin Edition - Performance Gains

In terms of framerate gains, Adrenalin offers up to 19% performance uplift over the original Crimson ReLive driver. The performance will get better over time with incremental updates, especially as new games are released.

Adrenalin also brings a new Radeon Overlay that allows you to adjust settings without having to exit whatever game you’re playing. Additionally, there is also an AMD Link mobile app so that you can monitor performance metrics right from your mobile device.

You can download the first AMD Adrenaline Edition driver version 17.12.1 here.
