It seems that AMD won’t be the only one to release new products in April. Following their Radeon RX 500 series launch, Nvidia might hold a presentation on 29th of April to showcase a new product which will unlikely be a graphics card.
Nvidia to announce Something New on April 29?
Recently, PowerColor leaked out the launch date of AMD’s Radeon RX 580 and RX 570 graphics cards. The company posted on their Twitter page that the new Devil RX 500 series cards will be arriving on 18th of April. Although AMD didn’t confirm this, the launch likely to happen based on the info revealed by PowerColor.
According to Nvidia Italy, however, Team Green will announce a new product soon after the Radeon RX 500 series launch. The unveiling is planned for April 29, but the company didn’t reveal what it is and let the GeForce community guess.
Nvidia’s Pascal-based GPU lineup is now quite complete with the recent reveal of their Titan Xp. It’s safe to assume that the company won’t supersede this high-performance GPU so soon after launch.
Also, it doesn’t make sense to expect any announcement regarding their next-gen Volta architecture at the time, at least on the consumer side of things; although we can’t say the same for the workstation and server side of the equation.
If it’s not going to be a graphics card then we might see a new Shield Tablet, especially after Nvidia has already updated its Shield TV at CES 2017. In addition, chances of the company showing its expertise in a brand-new consumer product, can’t be ignored.
Update April 14, 3:15 AM: The teaser isn’t about a product announcement, but it’s for a Southern Europe event slash gathering. The event is apparently taking place in collaboration with ASUS.
