Xbox Scorpio to run Battlefront 2 in Native 4K @ 60 FPS: Report
With Xbox Scorpio reveal only a few days away, the speculation around Microsoft’s super-powerful console is rife. Recently, new information about Scorpio’s graphical capabilities has emerged online which suggests it be able to run the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2 in native 4K at 60 FPS.
The information comes from Jez Corden who is an editor at WindowsCentral. Corden has a strong track record when it comes to these predictions. He leaked a lot of details regarding Project Scorpio before Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry officially revealed the specs.

Recently, Corden was active on Twitter and making his own Microsoft and Xbox predictions for E3 2017. Somebody argued with him a little bit about Scorpio’s capabilities and price, and at some point in this conversation, Corden said:
I already know Battlefront II will run and look better on Scorpio than the VAST majority of PCs on Steam, native 4K @ 60 FPS.
In addition to this, the industry insider claimed that Xbox Scorpio will be priced less than $500. As always, you should be cautious with this kind of information. But as I said, Corden has been spot on before, so I’m swallowing this report with only a moderate serving of salt.
Let’s assume what Corden said is true, then this is going to be a big thing. Especially, when we consider the sheer amount of raw power that is required to run a game at 60 FPS in native 4K.
For the matter of fact, Microsoft has already confirmed with Digital Foundry that they are aiming to run all 1080p and 900p Xbox One titles at 4K/60fps. Of course, it would depend on developers whether they decide to take advantage of Scorpio’s power and do 4K/60fps with it.
In other Scorpio news, Vice President Mike Ybarra of Xbox recently teased their upcoming console. Ybarra gave his Twitter followers a sneak peek of the Scorpio processor, with emojis for Scorpio, the muscly arms, a gaming controller, and more. Here’s the tweet:
