Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti 3DMark Benchmarks: ~30% Increase over GTX 1080 OC

Nvidia claims the new Pascal based card is the “Best Ti Ever” and should outperform the last year’s GTX 1080 by 35% on average. It is designed to be the world’s first 4K-ready graphics card, whichdelivers the best possible VR experiences as well. That being said, here’s the GTX 1080 Ti 3DMark benchmarks (courtesy of VideoCardz).

We can summarize the benchmark results as follows:

  • The NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti (OC) scores 10825 points in TimeSpy, which is ~39% faster than the 1080 (OC)
  • The NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti (OC) scores 7362 points in FireStrike Ultra which is ~28% faster than the 1080 (OC)
  • The NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti (OC) scores 15093 points in FireStrike Extreme which is ~31% faster than the 1080 (OC)
  • The NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti (OC) scores 31135 points in FireStrike Ultra which is ~29% faster than the 1080 (OC)

Overall, the performance benchmarks are impressive, showing an increase of roughly 30% over the GTX 1080 OC – as Nvidia promised. It’s worth mentioning here that it is a synthetic benchmark and doesn’t represent the real life gaming performance which usually falls under the ideal mark.

GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Specs – GP102 GPU, 11GB GDDR5X VRAM, 1480MHz Base Clock

The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is based on the GP102-350-A1 GPU which is a slightly different model compared to the one (GP102-400-A1) featured on the Titan X(P). The Pascal GP102-350-A1 packs 6 graphics processing clusters of which two are disabled, adding up to a total of 28 SMs with 128 cores each.

GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU Specs overview

The card features 3584 CUDA Cores, 224 Texture Mapping Units and 88 ROPs. It has a bus width at 352 bits which is smaller than Titan X’s 384-bit, but comes with a much faster memory speed to compensate for it. The 1080 Ti has its memory chips operating at 11Gbps which results in a cumulative bandwidth of 484GB/s.

The GTX 1080 Ti features 11GB of GDDR5X which is 1GB less than the Titan X. The card runs at a base clock of 1480MHz and boost clock of 1582MHz which can go as high as 2GHz with overclocking. Finally, the TDP is rated at 250W and power is provided through an 8+6 Pin power configuration.

Priced at US$699, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti will be available worldwide starting March 10. Pre-orders on the Nvidia store are now live.
