Ryzen 5 1600X Benchmarks: 6C/12T AMD SKU Beats Intel’s Fastest 6 Core Part
More AMD Ryzen benchmarks have leaked out, and this time we get to see the performance of the 6-core, 12-thread processor. The performance leak comes via Chinese forums showcasing the single-thread and multi-thread performance of the Ryzen 5 1600X running on the PC.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600X Benchmarks Leaked
The Ryzen 5 1600X is the fastest 6 core chip in the AMD Ryzen lineup. The 6-core, 12-thread chip is clocked at 3.3GHz base and 3.7GHz boost frequency, with 16MB of L3 cache and 3MB of L2 cache. This is a Black Edition which means it features AMD’s intelligent eXtended Frequency Range (XFR) technology for “auto-overclocking.”
The CPU-Z screenshot shows that Ryzen 5 1600X operates at a voltage of 0.374V under nominal loads. It has boost clock enabled which allows it to run at a clock speed of 3.56GHz. The chip manages to score 1888 points in single-threaded and 12544 points in multi-threaded performance bench.
Keep in mind that the result not indicative of final performance and may not necessarily translate to other workloads. But it does give us a general idea of what this next-gen Zen based chip is capable of.
Ryzen 5 1600X vs Core i7 6850K – Single and Multi-core Scores Compared
When compared against the current roster of high-end CPUs, the Ryzen 5 1600X manages to outperform Intel’s fastest Broadwell-E 6-core SKU, the Core i7-6850K, which has a boost clock speed of 4.0GHz with the company’s Turbo Boost 3.0 technology.
AMD Ryzen 5 1600X Single-core Performance
Not only this but the 1600X manages to outpace every other Intel six core chip in the multi-threaded performance as well. In fact, the AMD part edges close to Intel’s $999 Core i7 5960X Extreme Edition which is incredibly impressive considering the Zen based costs only $259.
AMD Ryzen 5 1600X Multi-core Performance
Here, I’d like to mention once again that these are synthetic tests and the numbers may not translate to real-world performance. At this point, we can only wait to see how this turns out.
AMD Ryzen CPU | Cores | Threads | L3 | TDP | Base | Turbo | Price |
AMD Ryzen 5 1600X | 6 | 12 | 16MB | 95W | 3.3GHz | 3.7Ghz | $259 |
AMD Ryzen 5 1500 | 6 | 12 | 16MB | 65W | 3.2GHz | 3.4Ghz | $229 |
AMD Ryzen 5 1400X | 4 | 8 | 16MB | 65W | 3.5GHz | 3.9GHz | $199 |
AMD Ryzen 5 1300 | 4 | 8 | 16MB | 65W | 3.3GHz | 3.6GHz | $175 |
