Xbox One X: World of Tanks 4K Screenshots Look Fantastic
Microsoft’s first real 4K console, the Xbox One X, will hit the market on November 7. Several publishers, including Ubisoft, Bethesda and Electronic Arts, are on board to bring special versions of their upcoming games to the console. The online gaming giant, Wargaming, has also pledged its support of the One X with World of Tanks 4K (native resolution).
The game developer has just shared the first three 4K screenshots of World of Tanks running on Xbox One X. A release date is not yet known, but you can expect to hear more information at this year’s Gamescom, which runs from August 22 to 26.

At this point, we do not know what frame rate will be maintained, but the Xbox One X version of World of Tanks will likely be similar to that of the PlayStation 4 Pro.
As a reminder, World of Tanks on PS4 Pro has a resolution of up to 4K using checkerboard rendering, plus support for High Dynamic Range (HDR), all while running at 30fps.
This in turn ensures detailed tank and terrain textures, even up close. The vegetation looks more natural and small details of vehicles become more effective than on regular PS4 thanks to the higher quality anti-aliasing.
While World of Tanks looks fantastic on PS4 Pro, the resolution quality could potentially give it a slight edge on Xbox One X after all it’s native 4K. That being said, not all games will run at native 4K but the console also uses checkerboard technique to upscale to this resolution.
The Xbox One version of the tank game is available for free to all Xbox Live Gold members. The game supports cross-platform multiplayer though PC version cannot be played together with Xbox owners as it has its own servers.
