AMD 2nd-Gen Ryzen Threadripper specs

From what we’ve heard so far, the Ryzen Threadripper 2990X sports 32 cores and 64 threads. It comes with a base clock of 3.4GHz and a maximum boost clock of 4.0GHz. The precision boost overdrive is rated at +200MHz so you can expect a single core turbo of up to 4.20GHz.

Other specs include a massive 80 MB of total cache (16 MB of L2 and 64 MB of L3 cache), and a 250W TDP. The chip is expected to ship around the $1500 price point.

The Ryzen Threadripper 2950X has the same 16 cores and 32 threads as its predecessor 1950X. It will rock a 250W TDP, but details regarding the clock speeds and cache size are not revealed yet. The processor could be priced around $999.

You will also see a slew of new refreshed X399 motherboards at launch, specifically optimized for the 2nd-gen Ryzen Threadripper family. For existing TR4 socketed boards, partners have released a new BIOS firmware that enables full support on them.
