6C/12T Kaby Lake-G Processor with Vega M Graphics Rumored
Intel have already announced their Kaby Lake-G family of processors, which incorporated AMD’s Vega graphics and HBM2 memory in a multi-chip module (MCM). Rumor has it that the brand-new ‘Core’ processor will also be available in a 6-core, 12-thread variant, in addition to the quad-core design.
Intel Planning a 100W 6 Core Kaby Lake-G Processor with AMD Vega GPU
Recent reports suggest that Intel will be launching the Kaby Lake-G in two different tiers of CPU. The top-tier product will feature a 100W TDP and will be aimed at mini-ITX desktops and NUCs.
The other processor will be rated at 65W that will go into high-performance ultraportable notebooks. Both will come with Vega integrated graphics that has a dedicated HBM2 memory stack on-package.

The 100W variant is also said to feature more Vega compute units as well as higher GPU clock speeds. Not only this, but it will also get a CPU core bump. According to German ComputerBase.de, samples of the Kaby Lake-G with 6 cores and 12 threads are already out in the wild.
The 6C/12T processors have a core clock of 2.4GHz, which is significantly slower than the 3.1GHz on the quad-core model, but it’s typical with almost all the early engineering samples.
Intel Core i7-8709G Specs Leaked – 4 Cores, 8 Threads Clocked up to 3.9GHz
As for the quad-core Kaby Lake-G, a video has surfaced on YouTube revealing a few specs of the Intel Core i7-8709G. The chip features 4 cores and 8 threads clocked at 3.10 GHz with 3.90 GHz Turbo Boost.
The i7-8709G has Radeon RX Vega M (694C:C0) graphics core with 4GB of HBM2 across a 1024-bit bus interface. The GPU engine runs at 1.19 GHz with memory clocked at 800 MHz, offering a bandwidth of 204.8 GB/s.
Previous reports also point to a Core i7-8809G processor based on the Kaby Lake architecture. It also features 4 cores and 8 threads but offers up to 4.1GHz clock speed.
Initially, Intel will launch only quad-core processors. You can expect an announcement at CES 2018 tech fair, which runs January 9-12.
