Intel Core i7-8700K to Launch at 419 € in Finland, Core i5 & i3 Prices also Leak
Recently, we heard a rumor that Intel could launch its 8th Gen Coffee Lake processors on October 5th. The Finnish site io-Tech.fi confirms this launch date and states that processors will start selling in Finland on the same day. What’s more interesting is that the site also revealed prices of the flagship Core i7-8700K as well as two other Coffee Lake CPUs.
Intel 8th Gen Core will see the introduction of the first 6-core mainstream CPUs from the company. The chips will be based on the same basic CPU and graphics architecture as Kaby Lake, but will use the updated 14nm++ process node. You will require Intel’s brand-new 300 series chipset-based motherboards to run these chips.
Citing its own sources, io-Tech unveils pricing details of the Coffee Lake K-series models in Finland which are as follows:
- Core i7-8700K: 419 €
- Core i5-8600K: 299 €
- Core i3-8350K: 199 €

The Core i7-8700K has 6 cores and 12 threads clocked at 3.8GHz base, 4.7GHz maximum Turbo and 4.3GHz all-core boost. A previous screenshot shows the CPU can overclock to 5.0GHz which is pretty impressive isn’t it?
Furthermore, the 8700K will pack 12 MB of L3 cache along with a GT2 tier iGPU. The TDP is rated at 95W.
Intel Core i5-8600K also boasts 6 cores but it lacks hyper-threading capabilities. The chips runs at 3.6GHz base, 4.3GHz max Turbo and 4.1GHz all-core boost. There will be 9 MB of L3 cache on board while the TDP rating remains the same as the Core i7 part.
The Core i3-8350K is a 4-core, 4 thread chip clocked at 4.0GHz. It will not feature boost clocks but rather a more stable base clock speed. The chip will pack 8 MB of cache along with 95W TDP.
Intel 8th Gen desktop platform will include integrated USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps) technology. It will also offer support for Intel’s next-gen Optane memory, Thunderbolt 3 with DisplayPort 1.4, and dual channel DDR4 memory clocked at native speeds of 2666 MHz.
In terms of I/O, a single processor should be capable of handling up to 24 PCI-E 3.0 lanes, up to 10 USB 3.1 ports, and up to six SATA 3 ports. Other key features include:
- Intel Hyper-Threading for 12-Way Multitasking
- Enhanced IA and memory overclocking
- Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology
- Intel Smart Cache Technology
- Intel UHD Graphics 630
- Intel Rapid Storage Technology
- PCI-E 3.0 x4 Storage Support
