AMD Ryzen 2 Specs leaked at Amazon, Pricing ranges from $199 to $369

Fix for Ryzen system crashes FMA3

AMD Ryzen 2 processors, code-named Pinnacle Ridge, have been spotted on Amazon and other e-tailers. The lineup includes the Ryzen 7 2700(X) and Ryzen 5 2600(X) chips which bring with them a new lithography, higher clock frequencies, and improved efficiency.

The online listings confirm the detailed Ryzen 2 specs and price for each processor. An Amazon pre-order page, which has since been pulled offline, has suggested an April 19 release.

AMD Ryzen 2 CPUs Listed Online – Specs and Prices Confirmed

Starting at the top, the Ryzen 7 2700X (YD270XBGAFBOX) is an eight-core, 16-thread chip with a core clock of 3.7GHz. It can boost up to 4.35GHz, as we’ve seen in previous leaks, which is the fastest for any AMD CPU yet.

As it appears, the 2700X will be flagship processor in the Ryzen 2 range, rather than there being a Ryzen 7 2800X to replace the current-gen 1800X. Further, the chip is rated at 105W TDP and ships with AMD’s Wraith Prism air cooler. The MSRP is set at $369.

The Ryzen 7 2700 (YD2700BBAFBOX) also rocks 8 cores and 16 threads, with a friendly TDP of 65W. The chip has a base clock of 3.2GHz and a boost clock of 4.1GHz. It will be bundled with the LED version of AMD’s Wraith Spire air cooler. It is priced at $299.

Next up is the Ryzen 5 2600X (YD260XBCAFBOX) that features six cores and 12 threads. It is clocked at 3.7GHz base and 4.25GHz boost clock. AMD will include its non-LED Wraith Spire cooler with this chip. It is rated at 95W TDP with MSRP set at $249.

Finally, we have another six-core, 12-thread CPU, the Ryzen 5 2600 (YD2600BBAFBOX), which is basically the entry-level chip in this second-gen Ryzen lineup. It is clocked at 3.4GHz base and 3.9GHz boost speeds. The chip comes bundled with AMD’s quiet running Wraith Stealth cooler. It has a TDP of 65W and retails for just $199.

AMD Ryzen 2 CPU specs, pricing and release date on Amazon

All of these new Ryzen 2000-series processors are based on the refreshed Zen+ architecture that is built using the smaller 12nm LP process. This should help achieve higher frequencies and better power efficiency. Further, AMD has updated features like Precision Boost and XFR to enable higher performance in gaming and real world applications.

The company will also release a new set of 400-series chipsets for those who want extended optimizations for Ryzen 2 CPUs. Though the new processors will work in existing AM4 socket motherboards with a BIOS update.
