Rumored New MSRP for GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Sparks Excitement

Rumored New MRSP for GeForce RTX 4060 Ti

There’s a new rumor making the rounds in the tech world, and it’s about the highly anticipated GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card. According to recent reports, the pricing for this upcoming GPU might be lower than initially speculated, coming in at $450 USD instead of the previously rumored $500 USD, making it only $50 USD more expensive than its direct predecessor, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.

The rumor gained traction after Colorful, a well-known graphics card manufacturer, confirmed supposed clock rates for the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. Alongside the clock rate confirmation, the $450 USD price tag was mentioned, which caused a stir among the gaming community. This price point would position the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti as $150 USD cheaper than the recently released GeForce RTX 4070. However, it’s important to note that taxes would need to be added, as is typical with US prices.

The latest information suggests that the $450 USD price tag would secure a graphics card with AD106, boasting 4,352 FP32 shader ALUs. The reference model is expected to have a base clock of 2,310 MHz and a boost clock of 2,535 MHz. Some overclocked (OC) cards could potentially offer a slight performance boost of around 2 percent.

The graphics card is also speculated to come with 8 GiB of memory, clocked at an impressive 18 GT/s (“9,000 MHz”), and connected with a 128-bit interface, along with 32 MiB L2 cache. The expected TDP (thermal design power) is estimated to be between 160-180 watts, which would limit potential OC capabilities. This is a significant decrease from the previously rumored 220 watts TDP in January, and aligns with hints of a shorter reference board that surfaced in December for the GeForce RTX 4070.

Based on the reported data, the computing power of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is estimated to be around 22.1 TFLOPs (FP32), putting it in a respectable performance range. However, it would still fall behind the flagship GeForce RTX 4090, which is expected to have 3.7 times the computing power in comparison.

The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is rumored to be released in May, and it’s anticipated to target gamers who may not require the highest level of graphical finesse. Alongside raster performance, factors such as memory and interface are likely to determine its performance capabilities, while marketing efforts around DLSS 3, a popular frame generation technology, are expected to be highlighted.

As with all rumors, it’s important to take this information with a grain of salt until official announcements are made by the manufacturer. Nevertheless, the speculated lower pricing for the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti has generated excitement among gamers and tech enthusiasts alike, eagerly anticipating its release and potential performance capabilities.
