Intel Core i9-9900K, i7-9700K and i5-9600K Specs Leaked; 9900K Clocked up to 5GHz

Intel next-gen Comet Lake with 10 cores

Leaks and rumors about Intel’s Core 9000 family have been making rounds for while. Today, new information has surfaced online that showcases the alleged specifications of the Core i9-9900K, Core i7-9700K and Core i5-9600K.

The information comes via the infamous Chinese Coolaler forums that has leaked the processor related details in the past too. Nevertheless, treat it with caution because an official confirmation is not possible at the moment.

Intel Core i9-9900K Specifications:

According to the leak, the Intel Core i9-9900K sports eight cores and 16 threads. The L3 cache is estimated at 16 MB, while the TDP should be rated at 95W, and thus doesn’t exceed the current maximum for the Coffee Lake chips in the Socket LGA 1151.

The i9-9900K is said to run at a base clock of 3.6GHz, which is lower than the Core i7-8700K with 3.7GHz. Perhaps the two extra cores squeezed into the same TDP is taking its toll here. The turbo frequency, though, reaches an impressive 5GHz for up to two cores, while the all-core turbo is also rated at a high 4.7GHz.

Intel Core i7-9700K Specifications:

The Core i7-9700K also has eight cores, but does it without hyperthreading. When compared directly with the predecessor Core i7-8700K, you get two more cores but a total of four less threads available. However, true physical cores are worth more than their virtual hyperthreading counterparts, so the performance comparison might be interesting.

The 12 MB of L3 cache on i7-9700K is smaller than the new flagship; however, it features the same 3.6GHz base clock and 95W TDP. The turbo frequency on all eight cores would be 4.6GHz with a max of 4.9GHz on one core.

Intel Core i5-9600K Specifications:

Finally, we have the Core i5-9600K sporting six cores and six threads with a TDP rating of 95W. This provides the highest base clock of 3.7GHz, which is not surprising given the lower number of cores. The processor has turbo frequency ranging from 4.3GHz to 4.6GHz.

If a previous Intel document is to be believed, the Core i5-9600K would have a max turbo of 4.5GHz, which is 100MHz less than that revealed in above leak. This, however, doesn’t refute the authenticity of the information given the fact that Intel’s documents occasionally had errors in the past.
