Radeon RX 500 series cards from Asus and Sapphire Listed Online

Various Radeon RX 500 series SKUs from Asus and Sapphire are getting listed online (via VideoCardz 1, 2). These custom cards include the Radeon RX 580, RX 570, and RX 550, which are overpriced at the moment on account of pre-launch orders. Interestingly, the list of cards from either of the two firms doesn’t include any RX 560 yet.

Asus and Sapphire’s Radeon RX 500 series Lineups Revealed

Asus is offering at least six RX 500 series models, including two RX 580 8GB STRIX, two RX 570 4GB STRIX, and two 4GB and 2GB variants of the RX 550. The SKUs are listed as follows:

• ASUS ROG STRIX RX 580 8GB (ROG-STRIX-RX580-8G-GAMING)
• ASUS ROG STRIX RX 580 8GB OC (ROG-STRIX-RX580-O8G-GAMING)
• ASUS ROG STRIX RX 570 4GB (ROG-STRIX-RX570-4G-GAMING)
• ASUS ROG STRIX RX 570 4GB OC (ROG-STRIX-RX570-O4G-GAMING)
• ASUS RX 550 2GB (RX550-2G)
• ASUS RX 550 4GB (RX550-4G)

The model listed online is the Radeon RX 580 ROG STRIX which is a factory-overclocking configuration featuring 8GB memory and five display connectors. It currently costs £326, which is apparently a placeholder price.

Sapphire, on the other hand, is readying 12 SKUs based on this series. These include the Radeon RX 580 and RX 570 with 8GB and 4GB memory, and the RX 550 with 4GB and 2GB memory.

The company will introduce a new brand extension, Pulse, besides its iconic NITRO+ series. There is also an RX 570 MINI edition on the list. The pricing starts at 90 EUR for the Radeon RX 550, while the RX 570 and RX 580 will be available for at least 183 EUR and 234 EUR, respectively.

AMD Radeon RX 580 and RX 570 Specs and Pricing

The Radeon RX 580 and RX 570 are both Polaris 10 based rebrands while the Radeon RX 550 is rumored to be powered by a new Polaris 12 GPU. The rebadged graphics family will utilize a new 14nm LPP process node rather than RX 400 series’ 14nm LPE process which should enable slightly higher clock speeds at lower power consumption.

The Radeon RX 580 will be based on the Polaris 10 GPU. This would be similar to many higher clocked custom variants of the Radeon RX 480 that are currently available out there. The card will feature 2304 stream processors, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs. It is expected to be running at 1340MHz boost clock to deliver 6.17 TFLOPs of compute performance.

The card will have up to 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM clocking in at 8.0GHz, across a 256-bit bus interface. Memory bandwidth will also remain the same, that is 256GB/s for the 8GB model. You can expect the Radeon RX 580 to be priced lower than its predecessor, at around $199 – $249.

The other Polaris based rebrand, the Radeon RX 570, will sport a cut-down Polaris 10 graphics core similar to the RX 470. It would be clocked at 1244MHz boost, delivering the compute output of 5.10 TFLOPS.

As expected, the card will come with up to 8GB of GDDR5 memory, but it will be clocked at higher 7.0GHz frequency, to yield a total of 224GB/s bandwidth. It is expected to carry a price tag of around $149 – $199.
