Nokia is readying to make a comeback with new Android powered smartphones. We already know from previous reports that the company is working on two high-end smartphones, both running Android Nougat out of the box. As of the latest, images of these Nokia Android devices have leaked on the web showing their back covers, rear camera and other body parts.
Leaked images reveal a metallic design with a slightly pillow-shaped back cover that should give you a good grip on the phone. Renders based on these real Nokia prototypes show that the flagship phones will be available in Gold, Black and White colors. Keep in mind that these are very early stage prototypes so the details may change when the final product is launched.
If previous leaks are to be believed, the new Android phones will feature a premium all-metal design and distinct Nokia feel. The smaller of the two will sport a display size of 5.2-inch and the other will have 5.5-inch size. The display resolution is not confirmed yet but we can expect the devices to adopt QHD AMOLED panels.
Under the hood, both Nokia Android N powered phones will pack the Snapdragon 820 processor. We don’t know details regarding RAM, storage and camera at this point of time, but the leak suggests that sensors on the two phones will be the most sensitive ever and will be based upon Nokia’s extensive research on wonder material “Graphene”.
Nokia is said to implement an updated version of its Z Launcher in the new phones alongside elements of touch and hover interaction. Moreover, both high-end Nokia phones will feature fingerprint scanner in the home button and come with water / dust resistant IP68 ratings.
As for the availability, a senior Microsoft executive has already confirmed that Nokia Android phones and tablets are planned for Q2 2017. We can expect Nokia making an announcement at MWC 2017.
