AMD RX 580 and RX 570 buying interest

AMD launched its Polaris Refresh RX 500 series graphics cards last month. At the time, the company released only two cards, the Radeon RX 580 and RX 570, both of which are based on the Polaris 20 GPU.

The refreshed 500 series is built using an improved 14nm FinFET process which helps it offer higher clock speeds. The target base of these cards are the mainstream users who skipped the older Radeon RX 400 series but want something better in the same price range.

Radeon RX 580 and RX 570 First Impressions

German tech site 3DCenter.org recently conducted a survey to evaluate users’ first impressions of the Radeon RX 580 and RX 570. According to the survey, the RX 580 received only 24.6% positive rating, 42.7% of the individuals polled said they were indifferent towards the launch while 32.7% held a negative outlook on the card.

On contrary, the RX 480 was able to achieve 30.2% potential buy-int, despite the initial PCIe power draw issues.

As for the AMD RX 570, the Polaris rebrand currently reaches a potential buying interest of 12.1% versus the RX 470’s much better 26.2%.

AMD’s Radeon RX 500 series might not be as popular among users but its next-gen Ryzen processors are. According to the survey analysis, Ryzen 5 is by far the best received CPU launch in nearly a decade. You can read more about that over here.
