AMD Ryzen 8-core CPU pricing leaked out

AMD Ryzen reviews will go live on February 28 as the company starts seeding samples of its next generation CPUs to testers across the globe. The fastest Ryzen CPUs, including the Ryzen 7 1800X, 1700X and 1700 will reportedly be released first on Feb. 28.

AMD Seeding Ryzen Review samples to Press

According to a report from WCCFtech, AMD is currently in the process of seeding Ryzen review samples to press which include around half a dozen different models. The Ryzen CPU is officially planned for 2nd of March when the majority of the lineup is expected to go on sale; however a few high-end models will be available a couple of days before that.

The Ryzen CPU lineup is comprised of five 8-core models, four 6-core models and eight 4-core models. All models feature an unlocked multiplier to support overclocking right out of the box.

The Ryzen lineup also includes two Black Edition 8-core CPUs, one Black Edition 6-core and two Black Edition 4-core CPUs. The Black Editons feature AMD’s intelligent eXtended Frequency Range (XFR) which is a fully automated technology that allows chips to achieve frequencies above and beyond default boost clocks depending on the cooling solution being used.

In other words, if you have a better cooling solution, your Ryzen chip will automatically detect it and overclock accordingly. So it’s likely that we’ll see Black Edition 95W Ryzen CPUs paired with high-end updated Wraith cooler.

AMD Ryzen 7 1800X, 1700X & 1700 Available for Pre-order starting at $319

The product description for AMD’s fastest Ryzen 7 1800X, 1700X & 1700 chips over at centralpoint.be reveals that the three models will go on sale on the 28th of February. Interestingly, that’s the very same day the company is holding its “Capsaicin & Cream” event at GDC 2017.

If previous leaked benchmarks are to be believed, the Ryzen 7 CPUs will offer an impressive multi-core and single-core performance. In fact, the sub-$400 Ryzen 7 1700X delivers performance on par with Intel’s $1000 Core i7-6900K.
